An " Act to provide for the allotment of lands in severalty to Indians on the various reservations, and to extend the protection of the laws of the States and Territories over the Indians and for other Purposes". This was the second attempt to pass a bill to improve reservations. It passed the Senate but not Congress. (8) pp. Front wrapper creases, detached, edges chipped, interior clean. WITH Indian Rights Association printed letter by Herbert Welsh, Corresponding Secretary, I. R. A. Philadelphia, Pa. November 1st, 1884. urging the Congress to pass this bill. 8" x 5" Fine condition. Good.

Francis Vigo (To Accompany Bill H.R. No.282 . Report From The Committee of Claims.
Washington, House of Representatives, 1854. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall. Soft cover. 33rd Congress. 1st Session. Rep. No. 117. The Committee of Claims, to whom was referred the memorial of Col. Francis vigo, praying compensation for money advanced by him to General Rogers Clark, during the "Illinois Campaign," in 1778.. submit the following report. (10) pp. disbound. Vigo, a patriot, spy & financier, was not compensated for the moneys he gave to finance General Clark's campaign. In 1875 the government paid a small amount requested in Vigo's will. Removed, no sewing, tear to inner margin, clean, no foxing, light age-toning. Very Good.
